Are you signed up to join a Denver Flash Mob event? Here are our tips to learn the dance and have an amazing flash mob experience.
Sign Up and Pay Attention to Emails
We will send you everything you need to know to the email address you use to sign up for the event. We include information such as the meetup location, meetup time, and a link to learn the dance online. Due to the nature of flash mobs, we occasionally have to do a last minute change. Keeping your email handy up to the event time will make sure you don’t miss anything.
Practice, Practice, Practice!
If you were participating in a dance recital or cheerleader competition, you would do lots of practice. We suggest the same for our Denver Flash Mob events. Treat each event as a performance, and get ready to put your game face on. There is usually someone awesome at the event you can watch for queues, but do not count on that. Learn it on your own.
Based on our experience, here are the best ways to learn:
- Start by learning the first 30 seconds. Practice until you get that down perfectly without the video. Then, add on the next 30 seconds until you know the first minute. Next, add the next 30 seconds until you know the first 90 seconds. Continue until you know the entire dance.
- Get together with a friend or family member to practice at home or in a park.
- Download the song or pull up the official music video on YouTube to practice without the video, or cover your screen so you can practice without cheating.
